In “How Do We Get To The Sky?”, Elbo depicts her intention behind the way she prepares — a process in which she fully immerses herself in creating the right cure for everything. She illustrates how she rearranges objects (with ‘detangling’ being her favorite), and how repeating these actions again and again became a form of healing. Through this repetition, she never loses sight of the goal. The term “mis en place” often comes to mind for her — a mental and physical state of readiness that guides her throughout.
